Shaolin Sect
少林派
Shaolin is the safest first stop for players who want readable combat, strong defenses, and forgiving mistakes.
15 factions
Choose by comfort first: a clear build teaches more than an advanced faction you cannot read yet.
A faction's difficulty is not only about combat power. It is about how many systems the faction asks you to understand at once: weapon range, training permission, alignment pressure, injury recovery, resource upkeep, and whether the first few arts make an obvious route. A high-damage faction can still be a poor first pick if the reason you lose is hard to diagnose.
For a first run, favor factions with readable mistakes. Shaolin, Wudang, and Emei give clearer feedback when a fight goes wrong, while poison, hidden-weapon, wound-fed, or hybrid sects often need setup knowledge before their strengths make sense. Use the cards below as a map, then open individual faction pages only when you need the Chinese term, representative arts, or starter route.
Each card combines the official English faction name, original Chinese name, location, alignment, weapons, beginner fit, and practical playstyle notes. The ratings are editorial guide signals, not official balance numbers. They are meant to help a new English player choose a route that stays coherent through the first injuries, first travel decisions, and first village support problems.
